Samsung SMART CAMERA

Yesterday I was in downtown with my students for the first official Street Photo-walk. It was a fantastic day from many points of view, and soon I will publish a post on this day. This article is dedicated to the second test with my Samsung SMART CAMERA NX20 with the 85mm lens.

Near Zocalo there is a show of breakdancers. I know one of the guys, offered me to go and take pictures when I want. So yesterday I brought my students and for me it was an opportunity to try the lens in a situation of action. In my defense I can say that there were many people and I did not have freedom of movement as I wished. Sometimes I was too close to the action and having a lens of this type I wanted to turn back.

On this occasion, I have noticed more slowness in autofocus that made me lose a lot of actions, but back home yesterday I proceeded to install version 1.01 of the firmware and now the camera seems to be more responsive. However I don’t see this a great problem. I could always use the manual focus.

Another problem is the slowness in writing of files. Also this I think is improved with the upgrade.

Technically a focal length like this is good to focus on the action, and I repeat having freedom of movement I would have been able to do even more photos with the public and dancers. I would also say that is not a dedicated work, only an extemporaneous photoshoot to test my new camera.

I think the results are good. Some of these shots (the last images) are taken directly in jpg, to show the goodness of the generated files: I must say that the sensor of Samsung SMART CAMERA NX20produces great colours.

The 85mmlens confirms all its goodness. A pro lens that produces great results.

CONCLUSIONS

So  much fun taking these shots. I love urban culture, and I think that breakdancers, parkours, skaters are great subjects. I love realizing photoshoots like this, and I think in future there will be other occasions and projects. Indeed  the past I realized a reportage on a Surf School. in Italy, with my friend and European championship Valentina Vitale. And I still remember that service with particular pride, also because I’m in love with the Surf culture.
