Samsung SMART CAMERA

It is 10:00AM on Nov. 29, 2012, and we are at the Samsung d’Light Shop in Gangnam for the launch of the Samsung GALAXY Camera, and everything about this place screams “SMART”. The Samsung GALAXY Camera has already launched and gained a huge following in Europe. Today, we sit in expectation, among a host of reporters, for the unveiling of a device that will usher in a new era of VISUAL COMMUNICATION.

Connected Camera Begins!
The show kicks off with a video introducing the Samsung GALAXY Camera, which will arrive in time for the Christmas season. Jongkyun Shin, President of Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics, takes the stage, looking calm, his pride palpable in his expression. The screen behind him flashes digital images that illustrate his words. “Today, we bring you the beginnings of the Samsung GALAXY Camera, and the very meaningful beginning of the connected camera,” he says, before boasting of some of its specs, which he describes as being “steps beyond” a smart camera.

Next an entertainer graces the stage. He is Jinpyo Kim, a singer and broadcaster who provides the narration for the Samsung GALAXY Camera ads. He introduces himself then the Samsung GALAXY Camera. A video rolls showing a day he had spent with the camera, featuring scenes from, among other places, the set of Top Gear Korea. The video fades and he is back on stage telling us what an honor it is to be unveiling this new era.

Two more personalities are brought on stage for an interview. Hanjun Kim, a famous photographer, and Jackie CHU, Manager of Digital Imaging Business at Samsung Electronics, are here to share their experiences with the Samsung GALAXY Camera. Jinpyo Kim is asking the questions and drawing the laughs. The two interviewees introduce the Samsung GALAXY Camera’s 15 smart modes and settings, which make professional-looking photographs easy for anyone, and describe the wide range of occasions where the Samsung GALAXY Camera’s ‘Smart Modes’ delivers stunningly detailed images, effortlessly and enjoyably.

Samsung’s advanced optical technology meets its mobile technology

The interview is followed by another video, showing young mothers taking pictures of their kids in front of a Christmas tree. With the press of button, she shares them instantly on Facebook. The Samsung GALAXY Camera combines high performance photography features, like a 21x super long zoom (optical zoom, not digital), with Android 4.1™ Jelly Bean OS and the 3G/4G + Wi-Fi seemless connectivity, and in the video, we see this seamlessness come to life. Shoot, Enjoy, Edit, Share, anytime, anywhere, all on one device. A new era of VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS is upon us. The world’s first truly “connected camera” has arrived in Korea, and judging by the applause, it is a welcome arrival.
