Firmware Updates for the NX1000 (ver.1.13)


Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has updated the firmware for the NX1000 to version 1.13. This firmware upgrade improves the product’s performance and replaces the M/Link and RVF apps with the upgraded and integrated Samsung SMART CAMERA app. Instructions for upgrading are below.

2) Improved Wi-Fi compatibility
3) Other bug fixes

Before upgrading the firmware
1) Make sure your battery is fully charged.
Warning: If the camera’s firmware upgrade process is disrupted for any reason, the mainboard may have to be serviced by a Samsung service center, which may result in major repair charges.
2) Format an SD memory card on your PC or camera and then download the firmware file.
3) Place the firmware file into the root directory of the memory card.
4) Once the upgrade process begins, do not operate the camera, remove the battery, or unplug the power cord. Once the upgrade is complete, you can resume normal use of your camera.

How to upgrade firmware
1) Download the firmware file into the root directory of an SD memory card.

2) Insert the SD card with the firmware file into the camera.
3) Press the menu button.
4) Move to the “Settings 3″ menu and “Device Information.” Press OK.

5) Select “Firmware Update.” Press OK.

6) Select “Body Firmware.” Press OK.

7) Select “Yes.” Press OK.

8) The progress bar will display the status of the update. When it is complete, the camera will reboot.

Note: If the firmware upgrade is not completed successfully, remove and then re-insert the battery, the firmware upgrade will start again automatically. Should you need further detailed information, or if you experience difficulty in upgrading firmware, do not proceed with the process on your own. Visit a Samsung service center near you.

    btw, why should user have to select each file (not all at once) to synchronize with SkyDrive (better Dropbox) ? Why only 9 files? 9 – is nothing. Why not all? Why there is no any log in storage? Why there is no smart way for synchronization?

    Has anyone managed to upgrade the 20-50mm lens on the nx1000? if so how did you do it? i have tried and cant get the lens upgrade option to become selectable.

    I’ve managed to upgrade the firmware of the camera, I try the same process to upgrade de lens firmware but in the camera part where I’m supposed to press OK to upgrade it, it happens as if the upgrade file weren’t in the SD card, so the upgrade option in the menu doesn’t become available. What can I do?

    Hello, so got this camera for my boyfriend for his birthday, however cant use it from day one as it comes up with check the lens, phoned samsung they said will send you a link with the required updates. Received this after phoning again to request it. After some issues and downloading a program to open zipped files I have managed to update the firmware to 1.14, however the lens update, well, not happening!!!!!!! Can someone please help as this is very frustrating, he has a camera he cant use, it keeps saying “check the lens” when trying to take a picture when we were told it should be fine once the firmware has been updated, which it has. The lens update has nothing by the side of it, and is grayed out when trying to update!

    I would prefer “Delete All” photos to be while watching photos, not only in configuration screen. “Format sD card” – yes should be in configuration screen, but “Delete all” should not be in config screen.
    Other than that this is great product. Well done Samsung.

    By the way, no need to format SD card, but maybe a backup of your photos before doing the update would be a good idea.
