Taking engagement photos has become one of the many ways to celebrate your upcoming nuptials. If you can’t afford a professional session, ask a friend or family member to take some pictures of you and your fiancé using your Samsung SMART CAMERA. Here are a few tips for getting professional-looking shots without the high price tag:
Strike a pose - Although it’s tempting to take a slew of kissing shots, try to vary your poses. For candid shots, make sure you set your Samsung SMART CAMERA to a high ISO so your photos don’t turn out blurry. Mount your camera on a tripod for posed pictures to ensure that there is no camera shake while shooting.
On location - Create your own studio backdrop in your home! Hang up a solid-colored sheet or pose in front of a blank wall somewhere in your home to create your own studio-like backdrop. You can also take some cute pictures on the front steps of your home or lounging together in the living room. Just try to relax in front of the camera so your pictures look natural, not forced.
Bring your point-and-shoot Samsung SMART CAMERA with you and revisit some of your favorite places as a couple. Take a few pictures at the spot where you had your first kiss, or at the restaurant where you had your first date. Not only will you vary the scenery in your engagement photos, but the places your shooting will add a bit of history to your pictures.
Photo editing – Use the editing and special features on your Samsung SMART CAMERA to create unique engagement photos. You can switch back and forth between color to black-and-white shooting modes while taking the pictures, or go back and adjust the photos after you’ve gone through them all.
- Play around with the magic frame to layer multiple photos together. Darken the corners of your images and draw the viewer’s eyes to you and your fiancé using the vignetting camera feature. This technique helps illuminate the subject and softens the overall image for a sweet, romantic vibe.
- You can use the tilt-and-shift feature to vary the depth of field in your engagement photos. Take a few pictures of the two of you walking hand in hand, or get up close and personal for a kissing shot.
- After a long day of shooting, grab your Samsung SMART CAMERA and take a few selfie shots of the two of you using the fisheye view. You may not end up submitting these photos to the newspaper for your engagement announcement, but it’s a fun camera technique, especially for candid shots.
Social Sharing – Don’t forget that you can use your Samsung SMART CAMERA to upload your photos directly to social media sites and upload to your email. Share a few pictures throughout the day with friends and family or keep them under wraps until you’re ready to print - it’s up to you!
